The best way to combat poverty is jobs. That’s the finding of a new study funded by a coalition of religious groups. For more, Currents correspondent Konrad Aderer visited Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens, which was not involved in the study, to learn more about the organization’s internship program for young adults.

Bienvenidos a otro día de pasion, poder y propósito! En este día vemos cómo la Palabra de Dios está llena de instrucciones para nuestros hijos, sus hijos y nosotros. Dios está muy interesado en nuestra formación en la fe y en la formación en la fe de los niños en medio de nosotros. En un mundo saturado de falsas enseñanzas y doctrinas es importante que invirtamos en nuestra educación religiosa y la de los niños. Un niño o niña con una base sólida en la fe serán menos propensos a caer en las trampas que el mundo establece para ellos.
Por favor, asegúrate de hacer tiempo para los ninos de tu familia y hablar con ellos acerca de Cristo. La Cuaresma es un buen tiempo para enseñar, hablar, compartir y orar, estas en mis oraciones! Someone once said, “If we don’t teach our children who God is, someone will teach them everything He isn’t.”
Welcome to another day of Passion, Power and Purpose! On this day we see how the word of God is filled with instructions for our children, their children and us. God is highly interested in our faith formation and in the faith formation of the children in our midst. In a world saturated by false teachings and doctrines it is important that we invest in our religious education and that of the children. A young boy or girl with a strong faith foundation will be less likely to fall into the snares and traps the world sets for them.
Please make sure to make time for a child in your family and talk to them about Christ. Lent season is a great time to teach, talk, share and pray. You’re in my prayers! Forgiveness happens in stages. First it happens on our lips when we verbalize it. It happens in our hearts when we internalize it and finally it will manifest in our actions. Forgiving can be difficult, but not impossible. When we forgive we go from pain to power. Not being able to forgive makes us slaves, but when we forgive we are free. God wants you to be free.
Your heavenly Creator and Lover of your soul is asking us to return back into his loving and forgiving arms with all our hearts. As we do this and connect in prayer with Him, He will grant us the strength and grace to forgive those who have hurt and scared us. You are in our prayers. Believe it!
