The Servants of the Lord and the Virgin of Matará (also known as Servidoras) are contemplative sisters within the missionary Religious Family of the Incarnate Word. The contemplative branch has nine monasteries around the world, and the Monastery of St. Edith Stein was formally opened on December 17, 1998 in Flatlands, Brooklyn. In 2012, the sisters were invited to move to the historic Monastery of the Precious Blood in Borough Park, Brooklyn, which was founded by the Sisters Adorers of the Precious Blood in 1910. Currently, the sisters live a life of service, study, and prayer alongside a small community of Sisters Adorers still living in the monastery, where they lift up prayers of intercession for the suffering, and joyful praise for the Lord.
