Queens Community Helps Brooklyn Soup Kitchen

Parishioners at St. Francis de Sales Church, Belle Harbor, gather for a Lenten dinner. The proceeds go to St. John’s Bread & Life, the largest soup kitchen in the Brooklyn diocese. Located in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, it serves nearly 2,700 meals a day and is expected to serve about a million meals to needy people this year. Pro Wrestlers “Fight” For Catholic Schools

Tim Harfmann steps into the ring at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Academy, Bensonhurst, where professional wrestlers are fighting in order to support and promote the Catholic Church. Anthony Passaro, who wrestles under the name Tony “The Bulldog of Brooklyn” Biella, is a product of Catholic education in the Brooklyn diocese. Now, he’s giving back to the community and raising money for youth programs.

Holy Union Sisters Leave Astoria

The Holy Union Sisters have been an intrinsic part of the Spiritual, Educational and Pastoral Life of Immaculate Conception Parish. For the past 71 years, they have educated thousands of school children thereby strengthening families and the parish. Michelle Powers reports on the community saying their last goodbyes as the sisters move closer to their Motherhouse in Fall River, Massachusetts.
