Busloads of Coptic Christians are ambushed in the Egyptian desert. A squad of masked killers disguised in military uniforms intercept the vehicles and open fire at point-blank range. At least 28 people are dead, including many children. The worshippers were making a pilgrimage to the Monastery of St. Samuel the Confessor, about 140 miles south of Cairo, when the jihadists boarded the two buses and started shooting. The latest atrocity against Egypt’s Coptic Christians hits especially hard in Brooklyn. Tim Harfmann picks up the story from Saint George Orthodox Church in Dyker Heights.
