For four months, Amanda Morales has been living with her children at Holyrood Episcopal Church in Washington Heights. She sought sanctuary — protection from arrest — there after she was ordered removed from the U.S. back to her native Guatemala. New Sanctuary Movement NYC, an interfaith group that supports immigrants facing deportation, has been helping Amanda and her children.
