Pilgrimages

What is a pilgrimage? A pilgrimage is a journey, usually undertaken to show devotion to one’s faith. This episode of Active Catholics will follow three different pilgrimages. The first is a Mexican tradition that has been continued in Brooklyn, one that shows dedication to Our Lady of Guadalupe. The second is a journey to the Shrine of St. Frances Cabrini that took pilgrims over the Brooklyn Bridge and through the streets of NYC last November. The third pilgrimage is World Youth Day, which draws millions of young people every time it is held. This year a remarkable 3 million people flocked to Rio de Janeiro to share in a celebration of their faith with Pope Francis and Catholics from around the world.
