Música Católica: Instrumento para redescubrir la fe
Hoy hablaremos sobre la música católica y cómo es un recurso para traer más personas a la Iglesia. El Papa Eméritos Benedicto XVI en una conferencia y peregrinación patrocinado por la Asociación Italiana Santa Cecilia comentó que: “La música sagrada puede fortalecer la fe de la gente y ayudar a los católicos no practicantes redescubrir la belleza de Dios.” El continuó: “La música y el canto que se hace bien puede ayudar (personas) recibir la Palabra de Dios y ser movidos de una manera positiva.”
En este día el Papa hizo un llamado misionero en donde animó a los músicos de la Iglesia dedicarse a “mejorar la calidad de la música litúrgica, sin tener miedo de revivir o enfatizar la gran tradición musical de la Iglesia.” La razón en que la música sagrada es “necesario e integral” dijo el Papa Eméritos Benedicto XVI “no es simplemente por razones estéticas, sino porque el canto sagrado “coopera en nutrir y expresar la fe y, por tanto, al glorificar a Dios y santifica a los fieles.”

Sacred music can bolster people’s faith and help lapsed Catholics rediscover the beauty of God, Pope Benedict XVI said.
“Sacred music can, above all, promote the faith, and, what’s more, cooperate in the new evangelization,” he told participants attending a conference and pilgrimage sponsored by the Italian St. Cecilia Association. St. Cecilia, whose feast day is Nov. 22, is traditionally honored as the patron saint of musical performers.

The film “Romero” (1989) tells the story of slain Salvadoran Archbishop Oscar Romero, whose martyrdom was officially recognized by Pope Francis earlier this year.
