The Carroll Gardens parishes of Sacred Hearts-St. Stephen and St. Mary Star of the Sea began their Palm Sunday celebrations together as one, before heading to their respective churches for Masses. Currents correspondent Konrad Aderer was on hand as Brooklyn Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio blessed palms for both parishes.

Only a few days before resurrection takes a hold of us and changes us forever. Be aware and remember that we are not the ones looking for resurrection, but resurrection is the one looking for us in order to embrace, transform, heal and revive. Allow resurrection to have its way in your life.

Hoy es Domingo de ramos!
Bienvenido a otro día de pasión , poder y propósito. Hoy vemos cómo las mismas personas que con mucha alegría recibieron a Jesús, son las mismas personas que más adelante gritarán “¡Crucifícalo!”
¿Cuándo fue la última vez que tuviste una comida con alguien que sabías de antemano que no iba a terminar de la mejor manera? ¿Cuándo fue la última vez que alguien que pensabas que te amaba te traicionó? Es sabido por todos lo difícil que es manejar y superar la traición. Hoy Jesús nos muestra que amar a alguien significa abrazarlo plenamente, que además de amarlo con sus atributos también con sus defectos y carencias.
Orando por ti para que en éste día experimentes a Dios de una manera muy especial y personal. Las personas que hoy son tus animadores no siempre estarán ahí para animarte.

Today is Palm Sunday!
Welcome to another day of Passion, Power and Purpose. Today we see how the same people that greeted Jesus with so much joy are the same people who later on will scream “Crucify Him!”
When was the last time you had a meal with someone you knew before hand was going to do you wrong? Who does that? When was the last time somebody you thought loved you betrayed you? Betrayal can be so hard to handle and overcome. Can I get a witness?! Today Jesus shows us that loving someone is about embracing them fully. With their faults and shortcomings. It’s not easy, but it is possible. Praying that on this day you experience God in a very special and personal way. The people that today are your cheerleaders will not always be there to cheer you on.
Keep your eyes on Jesus! He won’t fail! Believe it! Don’t let the disappearing act of the cheerleaders lead you to think that God has abandoned you. Everyone will, but God will never. That’s the truth! Here is today’s full reading. #LentatNet, www.netny.tv/40daysofpassion

Usted puede pensar que Dios se ha olvidado de ti, pero no lo ha hecho. Hoy es un gran día para volver a conectarse con Dios, orar y prepararse para lo qué está por venir. God is eager to gather us! God is calling us to be His people and in the process He is guiding and guarding us because He loves us. Perhaps, you needed to be reminded of God’s love and care for you.
Life has a way of making us forget all the good things God has done for us, continues to do and will do. Hardship, pain and storms will often cause in our lives what I like to call as “Spiritual Amnesia”
You may think that God has forgotten about you, but He has not. Today is a great day to re-connect with God, pray and prepare for whats to come. This lenten journey ends in resurrection. Death is part of the journey, but it’s not the end of it. Believe it! Here is today’s full reading. #LentatNet
