Currents correspondent Konrad Aderer reports from Visitation Monastery in Bay Ridge. The monastery is one of 33 Christian communities in Brooklyn to receive donations of $1,000 dollars from Maimonides Medical Center so that the communities can decorate their houses of worship with Christmas lights.
The Choir of the Church of Our Saviour on Park Avenue in Manhattan has recorded a CD of music for Advent. On a recent Sunday morning, Currents correspondent Katie Breidenbach visited the choir at the church.
A former house of worship in Bay Ridge is known as “the Church of the Generals” is up for sale. Currents correspondent Michelle Powers reports from Bay Ridge.
Monsignor Sean Ogle is pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Astoria, one of six churches in the Diocese of Brooklyn with a Holy Door for the Jubilee Year of Mercy. Monsignor Ogle joined Currents anchor Liz Faublas in the studio to talk about the Jubilee Year.
