Elderly Brooklyn Woman’s Attacker Sought

Konrad Aderer reports from a gathering of local leaders convened by Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, after the brutal robbery of 91-year-old Park Slope woman. The local leaders shared their outrage and asked for the community’s help in catching the attacker, whom NYPD believes to have robbed another elderly woman recently in the area.

Author: Find Burial Place of Heroes

The United States may not exist if not for their sacrifice, but their burial place remains a mystery. Military author Patrick O’Donnell is calling on Brooklyn to find the graves of the so-called “Maryland 400,” a mostly Irish Catholic regiment in the Revolutionary War. Mr. O’Donnell’s new book, “Washington’s Immortals,” dives into the story of these heroes and their connection to historic Brooklyn locations like Green-Wood Cemetery, the Old Stone House, and what is now an American Legion post in Park Slope. Currents Correspondent Katie Breidenbach reports.

Cathedral Basilica to Host Prayer Marathon

Pope Francis is calling the universal church to celebrate the Jubilee Year of Mercy through 24 Hours of Prayer. Currents Correspondent Katie Breidenbach reports that the Diocese of Brooklyn is answering that call. The doors of St. James Cathedral Basilica, downtown Brooklyn, will be open all night Friday into Saturday, with adoration, confession, and other devotions available throughout. Fighting for the Kids – Literally

“Ninja Nish” Nisha Ramroop-Alonso is fighting in her very first amateur boxing tournament – the famed Golden Gloves. But she’s also fighting for a cause.
