Cancer survivors celebrate life at Dyker Heights Golf Club while gathering for dinner and an awards ceremony. Their message: there is hope after the diagnosis. Currents Correspondent Katie Breidenbach speaks with two survivors, women who have beat the disease two and three times, as well as the doctor in charge of breast cancer treatment at Maimonides Medical Center in Borough Park, Brooklyn.

Relics of Polish Martyr in Williamsburg Ahead of World Youth Day

St. Maximilian Kolbe died in the infamous Auschwitz concentration camp after volunteering to take the place of another prisoner. His relics are displayed at Williamsburg’s San Damiano Mission on a tour up the East Coast. Pilgrims headed to Poland’s World Youth Day are among the many who flock to the Mission to venerate the relics of this martyr. Currents Correspondent Katie Breidenbach reports.
