Pope Names NY Local to Commission on Woman Deacons

Pope Francis is moving forward with a special investigation of women and Church deacons. He has named twelve people – equally divided male and female – to delve into what roles women should have. The only American on that commission is Dr. Phyllis Zagano, Senior Research Associate at Hofstra University. Currents Correspondent Katie Breidenbach visits Hempstead, New York, to speak with Dr. Zagano about her extensive research on the history of female deacons in the Church.

WYD 2016 Prayer Vigil and Concert
