Expedit Sserunjogi served at Holy Family – St. Thomas Aquinas, he expressed concerns about the living conditions of the natives in his Ugandan village — and that’s when Park Slope parishioners wanted to help. Through their offered donations, Fr. Expedit returned home and built a Catholic elementary school. Tim Harfmann spoke to Fr. Expedit, who is visiting the Brooklyn parish for the summer, on how the partnership has transformed his community in Uganda.

“New” Exhibit in Old Stone House
A new exhibit is opening tonight in Park Slope at the Old Stone House just in time for the 240th anniversary of the Battle of Brooklyn. The self-directed exhibit takes visitors of all ages on a journey through the Revolutionary Era in Brooklyn from 1776 to 1783. Michelle Powers went on a tour just hours before it opened to the public.
