This month they celebrate not only the beginning of the school year but also their official designation as a “Catholic Academy” with special help from Brooklyn Auxiliary Bishop James Massa. Padre Pio in Brooklyn
Known around the world as “Padre Pio,” Saint Pio of Pietrelcina has been called one of the “most active” saints in the Church, producing miracles for those who pray through his intercession. Citymeals Prepares Emergency Food Packs
Even though the summer temperatures are still lingering, Citymeals on Wheels worked an assembly line packing up vital Emergency Food Packages (EFPs). The organization delivers food daily to over 18,000 homebound seniors, but the EFPs will be used in extreme weather, like snowstorms or hurricanes. They contain the equivalent of four shelf-stable meals that will be hand-delivered. Michelle Powers joined the assembly line and filed this report.
