Some 200 guests, presidents of universities, leaders of foundations, Catholic Institutions, Catholic businessman and friends of Caritas in Veritate International, gathered at the Hilton Midtown for Caritas in Veritate’s “Pope Francis Charity and Leadership Awards.” These are given to distinguished leaders in the international community and in the Church for outstanding work of charity and leadership. Proceeds from the awards go to the House of Mercy and Peace project, assisting Christian refugees in the Middle East. Michelle Powers was there and filed this report.
