Loved ones gathered at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Flatlands, to say goodbye to the beloved pastor. Monsignor John Brown returned to the Lord after serving the diocese for over three decades. The Brooklyn-born priest was the pastor of St. Francis de Sales Church, Belle Harbor, during Hurricane Sandy. Monsignor Brown coordinated the relief center inside the parish gym, where thousands of people went for food, clothes and shelter.
