Archbishop Defends Claims That The K.O.C. Are ‘Radicals’

Senator Ben Sasse of Nebraska expressed disbelief that a nominee for the Federal Judiciary were being questioned about his membership in the Knights of Columbus.

Senator Sasse would go on to pass a resolution stating Knights of Columbus membership could not disqualify a nominee for any public office.

But the idea that the Catholic charitable organization could prevent someone from carrying out governmental duties has caused outrage.

Bishop Joseph Kurtz of Louisville chairs the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops Committee of Religious Liberty and he joins us to talk about a religious litmus test for judicial nominees.
