The Democrats who are running for president are all talking about how to help poorer people pay their bills.

One idea, called a universal basic income, is to give every adult in America free money.

Presidential Candidate Andrew Yang is a big supporter of this idea, saying that the free money would help reach the Christian goal of loving one’s neighbor.

Saint John’s University economics professor Charles Clark also argues that a government-funded income for all would be good, and joins Currents News to discuss the risks and benefits of this idea, as well as how such a redistribution of wealth would function through a Catholic lense.
