At the national conference for U.S. Catholic prelates, Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio introduced Monsignor Bernard Quinn for canonization. Monsignor Quinn ministered in the Brooklyn diocese in the early 20th century and is renowned for helping black Catholics. Along with building a medical clinic and helping orphans, Monsignor Quinn founded St. Peter Claver Church in Brooklyn.
