Police have arrested 47-year-old Christopher Battaglia of Ozone Park in connection with a series of religious statue thefts in southwestern Queens.
Battaglia faces two counts of petit larceny stemming from two of five reported thefts in Howard Beach and Ozone Park. One property owner said a stolen statue of St. Anthony was allegedly found among statues being kept in the trunk of Battaglia’s car.
It is not yet clear whether the stolen statues have been returned.
