Jan. 24 marks an important day for lovers of the news: it’s the Feast Day of Saint Francis de Sales, the patron saint of journalists.

With all that is  going on in the world today, being informed is crucial.

Mike Rizzo, director of the journalism program at St. John’s University, knows this as a journalist himself. He has worked at major news outlets, including The Tablet, ABC, Fios One News, and News Twelve.

Now, he uses the example of St. Francis de Sales in his introduction to journalism class.

He joins Currents News to share the history between the Catholic saint and how journalists everywhere can learn from St. Francis de Sales.
