Filmmaker Daniel diSilva spent eight years tracing and documenting the story of original image of Divine Mercy. After Christ asked St. Faustina Kowalski to paint an image to convey his mercy to the world, this painting was nearly lost behind the iron curtain of the Soviet Union. Now the entire story is told for the first time in a documentary titled “The Original Image of Divine Mercy.” Currents Correspondent Katie Breidenbach caught up with Mr. diSilva before the film’s exclusive screening at the Sheen Center Arts Complex in Greenwich Village.
