As part of Our Lady of Mount Carmel’s 175th anniversary year, Brooklyn Auxiliary Bishop Raymond Chappetto celebrated Mass in the local cemetery. The small graveyard is the resting place of Irish immigrants who fled the famine in the 1800s. Tim Harfmann reports from Astoria, where Bishop Chappetto and the parish’s pastor, Monsignor Sean Ogle, discuss the importance of the cemetery within the Church’s history.
