Pebble Beach at Brooklyn Bridge Park was transformed as hundreds of life jackets brought home the sobering reality of the refugee crisis to New York City. These life jackets were collected from the beaches of Chios, Greece and were used by adults, as well as children, making the journey across the sea. The stark reminder comes just days before the United Nations Summit for Refugees and Migrants and the Leaders’ Summit hosted by President Barack Obama take place in New York City.
