On July 18, Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio celebrated Mass with nearly 80 international priests who will be serving Brooklyn and Queens this summer.
“Whenever I come over here, I see new things. I copy beautiful things, the organization in the Church, the celebration of the liturgy, the culture, and the interpersonal relationships. I appreciate it so much,” said Father Celestine Chigboh from Nigeria.
He has served the diocese every summer since 2003. This year, he’ll be ministering at St. Benedict Church in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn.
Visiting priests give other clerics in Brooklyn and Queens the opportunity to go on vacation or retreat during the summer months.
