The month of April has long been observed as National Autism Awareness Month and April 2 was World Autism Awareness Day. Both are meant to spread awareness and acceptance of the disorder.

According to the World Health Organization, one in one-hundred-and-sixty children are on the spectrum.

Janice Aris is the Executive Director of Brooklyn’s Mercy Home for Children and she joins Currents News to help educate us on what we need to know about autism.
