In this special “out on the streets” edition of City of Churches, Anthony Mangano accompanies a group of dedicated volunteers on their “midnight run” from St. Dominic’s church Outreach program.
Although based in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, they travel into Manhattan at night to distribute food and clothing to groups of homeless people gathered beneath the FDR Drive and later at Union Square Park. The plight of these unfortunate individuals is highlighted in detail as Anthony interviews some of the men and women who depend on the kindness and generosity of the St. Dominic’s Outreach Program.
