There are currently more questions than answers as the world waits to know what caused the tragic helicopter accident that killed NBA superstar Kobe Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, and seven others.

Now, federal investigators are seeking help from the public to determine what happened.

“Last radar contact was around 945am and is consistent with the accident location,” said Jennifer Homendy of the National Transportation Safety Board. “We’re looking for photos of weather in the area of the crash.”

Weather is just one factor investigators are taking into account.

“We look at man, machine and the environment,” Homendy explained.

The area around the crash site is now on lockdown in an effort to keep curious people and paparazzi away — no one is allowed within 5 miles of the site, or allowed to fly any lower than 5,000 feet above.

As investigators comb through the wreckage, millions of people around the world are grieving.

The iconic Empire State Building was splashed in purple in gold in honor of Bryant, and the Los Angeles lakers have postponed Tuesday’s game, saying in a statement, “This is a very difficult time for all of us.”
