Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz was John Paul II’s personal secretary for almost 40 years, beginning in 1966. He was at the Holy Father’s bedside when John Paul died in 2005. One of Cardinal Dziwisz’s stops on his trip to the U.S. was the Diocese of Brooklyn.
