¿Sabían ustedes que la Diócesis de Brooklyn fue fundada en 1853 para responder a las necesidades de más de 5 millones de inmigrantes irlandeses católicos? Ellos, como mucho inmigrantes llegaron a Nueva York, pobre, cansado y buscando una vida mejor. Hoy la Diócesis de Brooklyn sigue luchando por el bienestar del inmigrante. Más de 150 años después y la necesidad todavía existe. La diócesis, aún más diversa continua siendo casa a ellos en busca de un futuro brillante. Ahora la población inmigrante se trata de ustedes, de nuestra cultura, nuestra gente, los hispanos. La cara cambió y el idioma es diferente pero la Iglesia sigue ofreciendo refugio a esta nueva ola de católicos. Con nuevas formas de comunicación y nuevos recursos, conectando, comunicando e inspirando ha transformado la forma en como la diócesis evangeliza en la idioma del pueblo.
En este capitulo conocemos a dos miembros del equipo de Nuestra Voz, el periódico diocesano en español y aprendemos como los esfuerzos por la evangelización de la diócesis ha sido instrumental en su camino.

Did you know that the Diocese of Brooklyn was founded in 1853 to respond to the needs of more than 5 million Irish Catholic immigrants? They, like many immigrants arrived in New York, poor, tired and searching for a better life. Today, the Diocese of Brooklyn continues to fight for the well being of immigrants. More than 150 years later and the need still exist today. The diocese, more diverse than ever continues to be the home of those seeking a brighter future. Now the majority of the immigrant population consists of Hispanics. Although the language has changed, the Church continues to offer refuge to this new wave of Catholics. With new forms of communication and resources, connecting, communicating and inspiring the immigrant population has transformed the way the diocese evangelizes in the language of the people.
In this episode we meet two team members with Nuestra Voz, the diocesan Spanish language newspaper and learn how the evangelization efforts of the diocese has been instrumental in their journey.
